new GM cereals?

Postby tammy_baldwin » Thu Jan 05, 2012 6:25 pm

Has anyone found the new cereals from General Mills? I'm talking about the Frosted Toast Crunch and the Peanut Butter Multigrain Cheerios. I printed some coupons for them from coupons.com hoping to try some. Lowes Foods online says they have them at their Gateway Commons store but we were just there and they didn't. They're not at Harris Teeter or Walmart either. Kroger isn't convenient for me to check but I would drive there if they had them for sure.

Anyone want to play I Spy for me?? :)

I have not seen those. They may be marketing them in another part of the US since we do not have Gateway grocery here. Did you specify your zip code for the coupons.com coupons?

I did specify my zip code when I printed them. And I also found them at the Lowes Foods in Gateway when I went shopping for mother-in-law yesterday. They just hadn't made it onto the shelves yet.

In case anyone is interested, the frosted toast crunch is fabulous (although very sweet - it's perfect for snacking dry) and the peanut butter multigrain cheerios are to die for. I recommend them both. :D

I noticed several new flavors of Cheerios at the Lowe's Foods in Brier Creek (Raleigh) this past weekend. Don't remember all of them but the peanut butter one did catch my eye.

OK, I did see Peanut Butter Cheerios and Dulce de Leche Cheerios today at the Leesville Harris Teeter after my dentist appointment. They were not on the shelf with the regular cereal. They were on a small shelf near the front of the cereal aisle for $2.79 a box on sale.

Walmart in Morrisville had a bunch of the Peanutbutter Cherios Tonight. Now that I see this thread, I wish I had bought some!

Frosted Toast Crunch? How's that different than Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

It's Cinnamon Toast Crunch but frosted. Think of the way frosted cheerios is different from those in the yellow box. They are a great snack but too sweet for breakfast. For me. The kids love them (of course).

It looks like these cereals are everywhere now. I highly recommend them. All of them. It's great to have something new in the cereal isle.

On that same note, it looks like Kellogg's may be phasing out the Raisin Bran Extra. I love that stuff and now can only find it at Lowes for over $4 a box! Looks like I may need to stockpile a bunch.

According to my dd they are pretty bland. She said they aren't the same without the cinnamon sugar. So thumbs down from her. I agree - I tasted a few and they didn't have much flavor except sweet of course!

You almost have to laugh at the marketing of these cereals. Don't get me wrong...I love them....in all their sugary goodness. But the fact that Fruit Loops now says "Made with whole grain" is laughable.
