strawberry pie recipe?

Postby ashcutie » Thu Oct 08, 2009 8:53 am

Sue Stock had a great idea to bake a strawberry pie since HT has them on sale this week.
Does anyone have a good recipe for this? I know that I could pick one from the many on the internet, but it is hard to know which one to use.

TIA!

I don't have the recipe in front of me (I am at work), but I have one that is really easy using Wild Strawberry Jello and Corn Starch. I will try to post it this evening or tomorrow morning. The pie is absolutely delicious!

I apologize for not posting this more quickly. I have trouble with the SD website at home and cannot stay logged on long enough to post. Anyway, here is my grandmother's strawberry pie recipe:

Baked Pie Shell (I think you could also use a graham cracker crust)
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp cornstarch
1 cup water
Small Box "Wild Strawberry" jello
1 quart strawberries, cut in half

Combine sugar, cornstarch and water in pan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Stir in jello until dissolved. Remove from heat. Stir in strawberries, pour into crust and refrigerate until set. Serve with whipped topping.

YUM!!! Now I am hungry for pie! :D 8)
