Hello from Jeri

Postby jeri » Wed Dec 12, 2007 12:20 pm

It's great to see some familiar names on this blog.

My name is Jeri. I live in Garner with my husband and two young children. In my life before stay-at-home-motherhood, I worked in international trade and went to law school. Since discovering Faye's Smartspending Workshop two years ago, I have been saving at least $500/month. I have also met some great people and learned a lot from them about saving money and improving my quality of life (i.e. Dave Ramsey's debt makeover and just today Dan's blog, Slow Wealth- very cool).

Another huge benefit of Smartspending-- with all the money I save, I have been able to donate items like food and toiletries to Interact (domestic violence shelter), Basic Needs Ministry and Oak Hollow Apartments (for formerly homeless families).

Hope to meet more of you at the swaps and in the shops!
Jeri

Hey Jeri, Muriel, Faye, and Laura!! I took Faye's class about 2 years ago...been hooked on coupons ever since. Although I will admit, I've been a little slack for the past 3 weeks. I'm excited about the new forum and ready to get back in the swing of things. I've saved soooo much money in the past 2 years just by couponing. Like Jeri, I also have been doing Dave Ramsey. (Glad it's working for ya Jeri!)

I've been married 24 years and have 2 children. Only 1 living at home now. My first one moved out in August..<sniff sniff> I work full time as an office manager for a landscaping & irrigation company.

Maybe this would be a good topic to have a thread for if there are a few followers. I have just recently learned about DR and the BS and plan on starting up in the new year.

Any thoughts?

That sounds like a good idea to me. Have you read "The Total Money Makeover" yet? If not, that's a great place to start. It really got me pumped up. If you can catch his show on the radio each day, you should listen to it. I download his shows and burn them on CD's...then I listen to them while in my car.
